Establishing Online Presence Importance

Establishing a strong online presence Is Very Critical To Your Business

Establishing a strong online presence is critical in an increasingly digital climate. Whether you’re building a blog, a business, or your personal brand, you’ve got to build an army of faithful online followers to experience the success you’re working so hard to touch.presence

Do you Remember the movie, “Field of Dreams?” with, Kevin Costner’s character hears a mysterious voice says, “If you build it, they will come.”  so it happened just that way.
He built it; people came; and the farm was saved.  Literally.  (We can only wish things really happened that way!). If you build it they will come? Don’t you think so?
I believe  most of us can easily get to the place in our minds where our businesses are a success.
We see readers, followers, customers coming in scores.  We can contemplate the “they will come” imagination. Naturally and lazily We just like to skip over the “if you build it” part. But it’s the building part that is what counts here.
You have to build your field of dreams before expecting anyone to show up
And because you’re all I have here and I love you, I’m going to share with you what I think are some of the best methods to build your online platform. These are the same methods I’ve followed, and they work. (And believe me, I probably tried all the same BS methods you’ve used or are using, so let me save you some time and some hard earned money.

5 Vital steps to establish presence online.

(1) Make sure your blog or site has some appeal.

This really not that hard, I know it’s not rocket science either.  But you’d be surprised at how often this is overlooked.  And don’t fall into the trap of thinking that a sexy graphically *designed* blog is a great blog. In most times It’s not.presence1
Want to know why? Most graphic designers know nothing about critical components such as usability, readability, and scalability of the site. Even though yes, Your design is critical, but I’m not talking about how beautiful your header is or how good looking and sexy your sidebar is.
I’m talking about formatting design. Well-formatted copy makes your information moons. You can be an incredibly gifted writer, but if your formatting is not as you are, no one will care. Let me be perfectly clear here.
Everything Matters when it comes to formatting your copy. What you bold, what you offset, where you break your paragraphs; every single detail of formatting matters.

(2 ) Write cleverly for the web.

You have only *10 Seconds* to capture a reader’s attention online. From the moment your site opens before them you have to grab their attention and convince them they want to keep reading.   They have to be convince they’ve just arrived at THE PAGE that will give them all the information they’re looking for.

Here is some of the most clever ways to grab their attention.

  • Bulleted Lists
  • Short Paragraphs
  • Subheadings
  • Numbers & symbols( Look at this page you’re reading).
  • Bolded Words in the right places
  • (Things in parenthesis)
  • Periods. In. Random. Places.

Most people want information but they don’t want to have to think to get it.  They don’t even want to have to READ to get it.  They want to scan, skim, and jump around and it’s your job make that process easy.

(3) Know what you are writing and whom you’re addressing that to.

You hear a lot about target marketing, niches, customer avatars.  There’s a reason why so much fuss to this… It. Matters. You can write anything to the masses but the masses aren’t going to read you.  You have to know who your market is and then lead it.  Write for the people who need your vision, your wisdom, your product or service.presnce2

(4)  Begin and write everywhere.

Once you’ve accomplished the 3 steps above then you need to start writing everywhere, not just on your own site or blog. You are establishing yourself as an expert in this niche, to your target market.

  • Connect with as many other websites who have a readership / target demo you want to get in front of
  • Set and think in terms of how you can add value to other’s sites,  don’t save the best stuff for your own website.
  • Establish a community for what you can add to the community (I’m a firm about being generous.) As you build community you will build your platform naturall

(5) Never stop the learning.

New methods, technology, tactics and new information are always coming. Invest in yourself and your site, business, your brand and stay on top of new topics. You cannot afford to overlook this vital step.  Don’t forget your primary business is in the land of technology and information! Stay educated and stay ahead of ambiguity.
